The information below relates to some of the calls officers have responded to in the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most reports represent early And provisionally Information gathered by the people on the ground who were actively working on the cases. In many cases, facts and circumstances, even the nature of the crime listed, can change as the investigation progresses.

From 6:00 a.m. on 16.07.2024 to 6:00 a.m. on 17.07.2024, MPD received 508 Service calls. This number does not include complaints about illegal parking or misdialing of 911. A breakdown of calls for service by county is as follows: Central (76), East (96), Midtown (81), North (87), South (69), West (83), and Other (16). “Other” is used for calls that are either not assigned to a sector or the sector is not in the city. This would be used in the event that one of our officers is assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Adult Person Arrested – 8:22 a.m.: A wanted person (70-year-old male) was taken into custody on an open DOC warrant. New charges were filed for resisting arrest.

North/PNB Response – 8:39 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of a person with no pulse and not breathing. MFD was able to restore the pulse and transport the person to a local hospital. Officers followed the ambulance to the hospital to confirm stability and ensure nothing suspicious was observed.

East/Death Investigation – 11:40 a.m.: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (52-year-old male). The residence was entered. Subject was found deceased. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded. Nothing suspicious was found.

West/Death Investigation – 1:49 p.m.: Officers rushed to the residence of a deceased person (47-year-old man). The medical examiner’s office was on scene. Nothing suspicious was found.

Central/Disturbance – 4:01 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old man. The man was arrested for disturbing the peace.

Central/Adult Person Arrested – 8:08 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of an individual (37-year-old male) making threatening remarks on a subway bus. The individual was arrested for making terroristic threats.

South/Disturbance – 10:36 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old man. The offender was arrested for driving under the influence (1st offense), hit and run, and obstruction of public order.

East/Strong Armed Robbery – 11:50 p.m.: A victim reported a robbery (wallet containing cash stolen). The victim also reported being physically assaulted. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing.

Midtown/Accident – 12:16 a.m.: Officers responded to a head-on collision on Beltway (between S. Gammon Rd and S. Whitney Way). One person had to be extricated from a vehicle and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 35-year-old man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol causing personal injury (1st offense).

Central/Drunk Driver – 2am: Officers responded to a crash report. A 40-year-old male driver/suspect had crashed into multiple vehicles. The suspect was found to be impaired. The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence (2nd offense), sentenced to probation, and received several traffic violations.

Central/Adult Person Arrested – 4:32 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted person (36-year-old male). The person refused to leave the premises and was arrested for trespassing after being notified and resisting arrest.
